RAI Corporation

> CLIENT SERVICES / ASSISTENZA RETI

Client Services/Assistenza Reti is the department responsible for providing production services in the USA, Canada and South America, to RAI’s networks (Raiuno, Raidue, Raitre, RAI Educational, RAI Sat, etc…) and to the other RAI subsidiaries. Furthermore, Client Services is in charge of reporting to RAI on the American media market through a staff of researchers. Interns will be requested to collaborate with the department on the following activities: conducting research, writing reports (on TV series, on formats, new media, etc…), translating and collaborating on the website Media Notes, which is devoted to media related news. During the course of the internship participants will be able to observe RAI Corporation’s workflow. Preference will be given to students with a focus on television, new media, and in particular, on the American media market.

The Production department is responsible for all production requests from RAI’s correspondents in New York and the clients of RAI Corporation. It coordinates the studios, editing rooms and human resources involved in the daily work of a broadcasting company. Interns will be requested to collaborate with the department on the following activities: assisting the producers, following the news agencies, researching and selecting video clips, staying abreast of the daily news, assisting cameramen during interviews and stand-ups, making appointments related to the reporter’s production needs, and assisting in the editing process. Preference will be given to candidates with experience in production and news.

LITERATURE (media focus; in particular, masters and specialization courses in journalism)

> RAI ITALIA

RAI Italia is the division of RAI Corporation that broadcasts in the international markets outside of Italy. Interns with RAI Italia will be requested to collaborate with the department on the following activities: assisting during studio interviews and other interviews conducted around New York; assisting with the RAI Italia archive; contacting guests; gathering information; and on occasion going out in the field for the journalists; assisting in the editing and assembly process; and assisting in special RAI Italia productions, by welcoming guests and performing various production tasks for the director. Finally, the intern will be able to obtain an understanding of RAI Italia's production flow & assist in the preparation of the daily programs when needed.
